Two gold and jewelerry sector associations agree for merger


Kathmandu, Mar. 25: Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (Fenegosida) and Nepal Gem and Jewellery Association (Negja) have agreed to go for a merger. 

The two gold and silver, and gem and jewellery sector business associations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the merger on Sunday. 

Mohan Kumar Sunar and Ramesh Maharjan, president of Fenegosida and Negja respectively signed the MoU on behalf of their organisations. 

A meeting of the merger task force has concluded that the merger of the two business associations of the same sector was inevitable to tackle the long-term challenges in the business. It also expressed commitment to include the businesses and associations of all gold, silver, gems and jewellery businesses. 

Both the associations said that they would work for export promotion, business upgrading, better revenue contribution and economic progress of the country. They said that all the event of the sector would be jointly organised in the future. 

But the date of their merger has not been declared yet.
