Kathmandu, Oct. 11
Secretary General of the United Nations,
Antonio Guterres, has postponed his scheduled visit to Nepal citing the recent
crisis in the Middle East.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA)
confirmed that the visit has been postponed until further notice. The Ministry
is likely to announce the new date within a couple of days.
Secretary General Guterres was scheduled to
arrive in Nepal on Friday, October 13. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal
Prachanda had invited him for an official visit of Nepal during a meeting with
him in New York last month.
In his four-day visit, he was also
scheduled to reach the Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Base Camp and Lumbini.
