'Nepalis' security prime concern'

Kathmandu, July 6: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara said Thursday that the security of Nepali workers in the Gulf was the first concern of the government.

DPM Mahara held a courtesy meeting with the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Egypt to Nepal – Abdulnaser Hussain Al-Harthi and Baher Nabil Abdelfattah Helmy respectively, and Charge d’Affairs at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates Haitham Al Hammadi at his office at the Singha Durbar.
“Diplomatic crisis in Qatar should be resolved diplomatically through peaceful means and dialogues. We all should work to resolve conflict and maintain peace,” he said.
He reiterated that Nepal was always against all sort of terrorism, and clarified that the Gulf diplomatic crisis would have no impact upon the friendship between Nepal and Gulf nations.
All the ambassadors said that the Gulf countries cut off the diplomatic ties with Qatar since the latter provided financial assistance to the Muslim Brotherhood and helped to protect terrorism.
