Parajuli meets Oman State Council Chair

Kathmandu, July 6:
Nepali Ambassador to Oman Sarmila Parajuli paid a courtesy call on Chairman of the State Council of Oman Dr. Yahya Mahfoodh Al-Manthri at the latter’s office on Thursday.
The Council of State (Majlis al-Dawla) is the upper house of the Council of Oman, which has 83 members appointed by Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said for a 4-year term.
According to a press statement issued by the Embassy of Nepal in Muscat, the Nepalese envoy and Dr. Al-Manthri discussed matters of mutual interest and cooperation.
“Various aspects of bilateral relations, ways of further deepening the cooperation in the existing areas and the prospect for cooperation in new areas were discussed during the meeting,” the statement read.
Parajuli talked about the new constitution of Nepal, the recently held local elections and said that Nepal had a favourable environment for investment and trade.
Deputy chief of mission Rojina Tamrakar was also present on the occasion.
