Nepal-Japan relations enteres into 60 years

The government Wednesday formed a High-level Committee to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan under the convenorship of Kamal Thapa, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs.
According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the committed was mandated to select, implement and coordinate various commemorative programs and events of diamond jubilee celebrations throughout the year 2016.
“The members of high level committee consist of the secretaries of relevant ministries, former ambassadors of Nepal to Japan, chief executive officers of relevant boards, Japan experts, representatives of apex bodies of Nepalese business associations,” read the statement.  
Diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan was established on 1st September 1956.
