USA Nepal Community Outreach Network (UNCON) Monday
handed over Rs. 541,000 to Janamaitri Multiple Campus to assist the later in
the reconstruction of the college buildings.
Two of the buildings of the campus were damaged by
the April 25 earthquake.
Rajendra Giri, chairman of Kailash Bikash Bank and
brand ambassador of Lions Club of Kathmandu Kailas, handed over a cheque
equivalent to USD 5,000 to Dr. Dilli Raj Khanal, chairman of the Campus
Management Committee, and Bhola Nath Ojha, campus chief, amidst a ceremony
organized at the campus.
"It it a small initiative to help the education
institution in the post-quake scenario," Giri said.
Dr. Khanal said that the money would be used for the
reconstruction of campus infrastructure.
Rudra Hari Gyawali, governor of Lions Club
International, District 325A2, stated there would be more support to education
from the Lions.
Established
as a community college, Janamaitri has about 1,600 students enrolled under
various faculties.
