CAN Info-tech postponed

Kathmandu, Apr. 20

The Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation has stalled its flagship programme CAN Info-tech, the largest information technology exhibition in the country.

Issuing a press statement on Monday, it informed that the IT show has been postponed until further notice owing to the increasing COVID-19 contagion.

Although the exhibition was generally used to be organised during winter in January/February, the CAN Federation had postponed it to May this year hoping that the pandemic would be in control by then and the programme would be organised conveniently.

“Considering the recent decision of the government, direction of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre, and rapid expansion of the pandemic, the Central Working Committee of the organisation on 18 April decided to halt the programme for now,” said CAN in a statement on Monday.

The event was slated for 12-16 May this year.
