Smart Choice Technologies (SCT) and Himalayan Bank
Limited (HBL) have signed an agreement to operate smart QR payment services
through mobile banking app HI-MB.
The agreement was signed for the operation of payment
service through smart QR, SCT informed in a statement.
With this added service, users of the HI-MB app can
easily pay for goods and services at Bhat Bhateni Super Market, Big Mart,
Express Mart, Kirana, Big Digital and through the merchants connected to Smart
QR.
Similarly, the merchants of Himalayan Bank will also
be able to receive payments through the customers of banks and financial
institutions that are connected to Smart QR. As payment and transactions are
done through financial switch which is issued in EMV standard, making and
receiving payment through Smart QR remains easy, safe and reliable.
According to the company, the agreement between the
two companies is hoped to augment digital payments in Nepal as a whole.
