Kathmandu, Oct. 4
The second Nepal India Franchise Expo,
Awards and Summit will be held virtually from October 16.
The three-day expo is being organised to
bring the Nepali and Indian brands and investors to a single platform with an
aim to attract investment, technology and business models between the two
countries.
Indian Embassy in Kathmandu is organising
the event in partnership with the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce
and Industry (FNCCI) and Nepalfranchise.com.
The event will feature more than 100 brands
from Nepal and India while more than 2,000 investors will participate to seek
franchise, dealership or licenses to expand their business opportunities, said
the FNCCI in a statement.
With the success of the first Nepal India
Franchise Expo last year, the organisers had decided to develop it as an
established bilateral trade and investment promotion programme. However, due to
the challenges created by coronavirus, it is being held on a virtual platform
this year.
The first edition of the programme was participated
by 10 Nepali and 50 India brands and helped more than 2,000 investors and
businesspersons in expanding and enhancing their business.
According to the FNCCI, the event will also
help attract more foreign brands to come
to Nepal. More than 100 brands like Flipkart, Oyo, Coke, Unilever and Lenskart
have already launched their business in Nepal while multiple Nepali brands have
created their strong presence in the domestic and international markets.
"It will promote investment,
entrepreneurships and partnerships beyond the border," said the
organisers.
The event will be a 3D virtual presentation
while the exhibitors and participants can show their presence from their home
or offices. The FNCCI has made a call to all Nepali brands to participate in the
event.
