Prez, PM express condolences to Amir of Kuwait

Kathmandu, Oct. 2

President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari has sent a message of condolences to Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of Kuwait, on the passing away of late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

In the message, the President has extended heartfelt condolences to the members of the royal family and government and the people of Kuwait.

She said that late Amir was a visionary statesman who made a significant contribution to peace, progress and prosperity of his people and played important role in fostering understanding and cooperation in the region.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has also sent a message of condolences to Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait, expressing deep sadness on the passing away of Al-Sabah.

Nepal has lost a true friend and well-wisher in the demise of late Amir, he said in the message, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
