Vice
President of the Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Dr. Badri KC has
entered into the election fray with the announcement of his candidacy for the
post of the president of the organisation International Coordination Council
(ICC).
He
announced his candidacy at a press meet organised in Kathmandu.
He said that he would work for well-managed
and safe foreign employment and establishment of NRN Nepal Development Fund.
"Restructuring
and strengthening of the NRNA and making it an organisation equipped with
skill, knowledge and technology to work in the interest of NRNs, promoting
Nepali tourism and forging collaborations with youth, women and international
organisations are my priorities," said Dr. KC.
According
to him, he has long been working for the welfare of NRNs. He has been
associated with the organisation since 2003 when he joined it as a general
member of NRNA National Coordination Council (NCC) Russia.
He
had served as the General Secretary of the NCC Russia and served as the ICC
member for two terms, treasurer and General Secretary of the ICC for two terms
from 2015 to 2019.
Vice
Presidents of the NRNA Kul Acharya from the United Kingdom and Rabina Thapa
from the United States of America have already announced their candidacy for
the top post in the organisation.
NRNA
International Conference will be held from October 13-15 in Kathmandu. Acharya
and Thapa had given priority to the citizenship issue, institutional
strengthening and safety of Nepali migrant workers.
The
NRNA was established 18 years ago as a non-government global organistaion and
now has expanded its network in 82 countries.
