Maulakali Cable Car comes into operation

Maulakali Cable Car has come to operation at Gaindakot in Nawalpur (Nawalparasi Est) from Friday – the first day of the Nepali New Year 2080.

Abhishek Bikram Shah, Head of Maulakali Cable Car Management Department, informed that the service has been started on the occasion of New Year. The new facility came into the motion at 6:00 AM in the morning. Centenarian Saraswati Kandel, a local resident, and Chief District Officer of Nawalpur, Krishna Prasad Lamsal traveled as the first passenger of the cable car.

Maulakali Temple is at the distance of about two kilometres distance and can be reached within five minutes by cable car. There are 12 gondolas in cable car.

Shah informed that the two-way price of the cable car has been fixed at Rs 550.

According to him, the ticket price of the cable car is Rs 330 for children between 3 to 4 feet, Rs 415 for students, Rs 415 for senior citizens and Rs 275 for the differently abled people. The cable car has said that it will provide free service for the elderly above 80 years and children below 3 feet.
