Kathmandu, Mar. 29
Osho Tapoban in Kathmandu
is organising Osho Festival at Tundikhel in the Capital.
The 12-hour long
programme, the 2nd edition in
the series of the fun-fare programme, would be a fair of meditation,
literature, laughter, flavour, music and various other forms of entertainment,
Nirajan Bhandari, spokesperson for the Tapoban, said at a press conference
organised on Wednesday.
"Meditation and yoga
has a high importance in the age of fast-moving lifestyle and growing
professional, economic and social stress. So, beginning the year with
meditation and yoga would be a good initiative itself," he said.
The festival would be
opened for all and is expected to host more than 150,000. Meanwhile, a
meditation programme with 50,000 people would also be organised in the evening
to create awareness about yoga. The programme would be attended by the
high-dignitaries from the government, private sector and civil society
organisations, informed Bhandari.
Likewise, the festival
will feature various dances, comedy and musical shows. Internationally renowned
chef Santosh Shah would coordinate the food festival at the event. "The
festival is being organised to highlight the importance of meditation and yoga
in the modern fast-moving and stressful lifestyle," said Bhandari.
Bhaban Bhatta aka Swami
Ananda Dev said that mental stress has been increasing over the years in recent
times so meditation and yoga can treat the stress that couldn't be treated by
the medical science.
"We want to
propagate the importance of meditation to the entire world," he said.
Shobhita Simkhada,
Trustee of Osho Tapoban, said that meditation is all about the personal
transformation of an individual.
It is the festival of
sharing happiness, she said.
Tapoban family has
recently updated President Ram Chandra Paudel about the event. Osho Tapoban is
one of the meditation centres that propagate yoga and meditation developed and
taught by Acharya Rajneesh (Osho).
