Kathmandu, Apr. 29
Nepal–India Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (NICCI) and the Nepal Business Institute (NBI) have
signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the organisation
of the Nepal Business Summit 2026 slated for May 18 this year.
Kunal Kayal, Vice President
of NICCI, and Bishal Gaire, Executive Chairperson of NBI, signed the MoU and
termed it a significant step toward strengthening efforts to promote and
support the business ecosystem in Nepal.
"The collaboration aims
to jointly organise the summit as a platform for dialogue and knowledge
exchange, featuring panel discussions that bridge policy and practice, as well
as ideation and implementation," NICCI said in a statement on Wednesday.
The summit is expected to
generate consolidated recommendations based on these discussions and aligned
with international best practices.
Under this partnership,
NICCI and NBI will work together to create platforms that promote both domestic
and international business engagement, positioning Nepal as an attractive
destination for investment, particularly in the context of a stable government
with a strong parliamentary majority.
Representatives from both
institutions conveyed their confidence that this partnership will be meaningful
and productive, contributing to Nepal’s long-term economic development.
