Master plan for Narayanhiti area in offing


 Kathmandu, Mar 10
The government is preparing a masterplan for the integrated development of Narayanhiti Palace Museum, Kaiser Mahal and Republic Monument in and around the palace.
A high-level interaction at the Republic Monument on Tuesday had created consensus about the same.
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai, Chief Executive Officer of National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) Sushil Gyawali,  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s Chief Political Advisor Bishnu Rimal led the interaction that discussed the situation of the national monuments and need of the masterplan.
The NRA will lead the masterplan creation project. Currently the Kaiser Mahal is being retrofitted while some of the structures at the Narayanhiti damaged in the 2015 earthquake are being reconstructed.
Secretary of the NRA Shiva Hari Sharma, Secretary of the MoCTCA Kedar Bahadur Adhikari, Culture Division Chief of the ministry Suresh Acharya, Director General of the Department of Archaeology Damodar Gautam and Executive Director of the Durbar Museum Bhesh Narayan Dahal also participated in the interaction.
