Kathmandu, Nov. 25
Banking, Finance and Insurance Institute of Nepal (BFIN) is organising a
one-day conference entitled 'Conference on Leadership Development for the New
Normal' on Saturday in Kathmandu.
The organisers said that board of directors, chief executive officers
and top executives of banks and financial institutions, insurance companies, senior
government officials, and leaders of public and private industries will attend
the event.
Likewise, experts from India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka will make
their presentations at the conference.
Maha Prasad Adhikari, Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, is scheduled to
inaugurate the conference while Dr. Duvvuri Subbarao, former Governor, Reserve
Bank of India, Dr. Atiur Rahman, Former Governor, Bangladesh Bank, Dr.
Chiranjibi Nepal, Former Governor, NRB, Deputy Governors of the central bank
Dr. Neelam Dhungana Timsina and Bam Bahadur Mishra are the major speakers.
The conference is being organised to promote the application of digital
technology in the BFIs and insurance conference.
"The
business risks are increasing day by day with the introduction of the next
phase digital revolution and disruption in the financial sector. The digital
revolution requires enormous investment, new skills and capabilities to manage
new threats and risks, new regulatory systems to look into the digital-backed
businesses and complexities, and the leaders have to be capable to manage the
digital institutions," said the BFIN.
