Ambassador of China to Nepal, Hou Yanqi, has paid a farewell
call on Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Narayan Khadka, at the latter's
office in Singha Durbar on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said in a tweet that
matters of bilateral interest were discussed during the meeting. Envoy Yanqi
also paid a farewell call on Foreign Secretary, Bharat Raj Paudyal.
Yanqi had assumed office in Kathmandu in December 2018.
Meanwhile, the governments of Nepal and Italy have signed a
memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a bilateral consultation
mechanism between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
Foreign Secretary Paudyal and Ambassador of Italy to Nepal,
Vincenzo De Luca, who is based in New Delhi, India, signed the MoU on behalf of
the foreign ministries of their respective countries.
According to the MoFA, the mechanism will be an important
platform for dialogue on regular basis between the ministries in further
enhancing bilateral relations and promoting areas of cooperation.
