FM Dr. Paudyal leaves for Sri Lanka

 Kathmandu, Feb. 2

Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Bimala Rai Paudyal has left for Colombo, Sri Lanka on Thursday to participate in the 75th Independence Day programme of the island nation.

She was received by the MP of Sri Lanka Premitha Bandara Tennakoon at the Bandaranaike International Airport.

FM Dr. Paudyal is scheduled to attend the Independence Day ceremony and reception hosted by the president at the President's House on February 4. She will meet Sri Lankan President, Ranil Wickremesinghe and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.

She is visiting the SAARC member country at the invitation of her Sri Lankan counterpart M.U.M. Ali Sabry. She will return to Kathmandu on 5th February.

Minister Dr. Paudyal will participate in a dinner hosted by Nepali Ambassador to Sri Lanka Basudev Mishra on Thursday evening.

On this occasion, she has planned to interact with the Nepalese community in Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed in a statement.
