Bussewa enters 10th year

Kathmandu, Aug. 7

Nepal's only online bus ticketing service provider, bussewa.com, has entered its tenth year.

The company operated under Bussewa Tours and Travels has provided services on most of the routes in Nepal during this period.

It has been providing online ticket booking services for Indian cities including New Delhi, Bodh Gaya and Muzaffarpur. Currently, more than 3,000 passengers are travelling to various locations using the bus service by booking tickets via bussewa.com, the company's Chief Executive Officer, P. R. Khanal, informed.

Meanwhile, the company has also launched a passenger lounge at Dhunga Adda in Kathmandu, so that the passengers do not have to wait for the bus standing on the roadside and suffocating with dust and smoke. The lounge has Wi-Fi, drinking water and other facilities for the passengers, and the bus can be boarded directly from the lounge.

According to Khanal, although the bussewa has to work hard to make the transport sector technology-friendly, which is considered an informal sector and the use of technology is minimal, the general transport businessmen and travelers are getting attracted towards the online ticketing platform.

Speaking at a press conference held on the occasion of the tenth year, Khanal said, "Bussewa.com has started its service with the aim of connecting the transport sector with technology. In the coming days, we will make our service more efficient and expand it to make things easier for common passengers."

On this occasion, the bus service has announced an offer that 10 people can travel for free every day for 10 days. 100 per cent cash back will be given to 10 people every day through a lottery. It is said that the name of the winner would be announced through the official Facebook page of the bus service.
