Computer
Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation and the United States Agency for
International Development's Trade and Competitiveness have signed a Letter of
Cooperation (LOC) to enhance the ICT ecosystem in Nepal and its positive impact
on the Nepali people.
The
CAN Federation said in a statement that it is a significant development for
Nepal's information and communication technology (ICT) sector.
CAN
Federation’s President, Ranjeet Kumar Poddar, and USAID Trade and
Competitiveness’s Chief of Party Agnes Luz signed the LoC.
"This
collaboration marks a significant step towards enhancing Nepal's ICT ecosystem,
fostering economic growth, creating opportunities for various stakeholders,
including marginalised groups and host programmess aimed at boosting the competitiveness of the
IT and digital services sectors," read the statement.
"Possible
cooperation with the USAID will facilitate in building alliances and ecosystems
for ICT talent training in Nepal," said Poddar.
Chiranjibi
Adhikari, CAN Federation's Secretary General, said that collaboration and
alliances are key to boosting and strengthening Nepal's ICT sector.
