Kathmandu, Oct. 14
Rajendra
Kumar (RK) Sharma has filed candidacy for the post of the president of the Non-Resident
Nepali Association (NRNA) the other day and said that he has an agenda to unite
the organisation around the world including the Middle East.
Sharma
said that his pledge includes a plan to include NRNs living in the Middle East,
Europe, America and other countries. He also said that if he is elected, he
will try to fulfill his election promise honestly.
According
to him, the Middle East region has not been successful to elect a president of
the NRNA in its about two-decade long history, so his candidacy aimed to
fulfill this gap.
Sharma
asserted that he has received the support of all political parties in
fulfilling the sacred purpose of NRNA and said that he is aware that there
should be no politics in NRNA but the organization should work in cooperation
with the parties.
In his
election manifesto, he has pledged to fulfill 24 tasks including NRNA
development fund and implementing reforms in 24 months.
"For
some time now, there has been no unity in the NRNA. It has hindered us from
achieving our target. We have the responsibility to unite it in any way,"
he said.
