Kathmandu, Dec. 31
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has instructed the
Ministry of Home Affairs to bring a proposal to form a high-level commission of
inquiry to investigate the shooting and killing of two youth in Balkumari of
Lalitpur district on Friday.
The commission would be formed under the chairmanship of a
former justice in accordance with sub-section (2) of section 3 of the
Commission of Inquiry Act, 1969 to investigate the incident, according to the
Prime Minister's Office.
A Cabinet meeting that would be convened on Monday will make
a formal decision about the commission and the latter would start its work on
the same day.
Birendra Shah, 22, and Sujan Rawat, 23, were killed in clash
with the police. A group of youths had been demonstrating at Balkumari saying
that they shouldn't be barred from sitting in the exams for EPS, a test of
proficiency in Korean language that is first step to get job in South Korea.
The youth set fire the vehicle of Prakash Jwala, Minister for Physical
Infrastructure and Transport.
Earlier on Saturday, the government suspended the police
chief and chief district officer of Lalitpur, and chief of EPS Korea Branch
until the investigations into the case are over.
