Kathmandu, July 13
Minister
of International Department of the Communist Party of China Liu Jianchao paid a
courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Wednesday.
Various
matters of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation were discussed during the
meeting, informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in a statement.
Earlier,
Liu had called on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Sunday where the two
discussed the matters of mutual interest between the two countries.
The
visiting minister also hold a meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr.
Narayan Khadka, at his office. They exchanged views on further strengthening
the bilateral relations between Nepal and China.
During
his first-ever foreign trip after assuming the leadership of the International
Department of the CPC in June, Liu held separate meetings with Chairman of
CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, Chairman of CPN-MC, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Chairman of
CPN-Unified Socialist, Madhav Kumar Nepal, and its leader and former PM,
Jhalanath Khanal.
Minister
Liu and his delegation returned to China upon completion of the visit on
Wednesday.
