Entrepreneurs demand law for gold, silver business

Kathmandu, June 23

The Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association (FENEGOSIDA) has urged the government to formulate a law on gold and silver business. A delegation of the business body recently met the Parliamentary Committee on Industry, Commerce and Supplies and said that there was no clear law on gold and silver business, and urged to take immediate action in this regard.

The delegation led by FENEGOSIDA President Manik Ratna Shakya has called on the members of the Parliamentary Committee on Industry, Commerce and Supplies, including Bimal Srivastava, to take initiative for speedy law making. Shakya also informed about the issues to be included in the law.

"Due to the lack of clear laws regarding the operation of gold and silver business, the businessmen of this sector have been facing difficulties. Although the concerned bodies have been repeatedly drawing the attention of the businessmen for lawmaking, there is still a absence of law in this field due to lack of hearing," said Shakya.
