President authenticates Bill on investment

Kathmandu, July 8

President Ramchandra Poudel on Monday authenticated the Bill made to amend some laws to facilitate investment.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the President, he validated the bill as per Article 113(2) of the Constitution of Nepal.

In a bid to attract investment in Nepal, the government had amended various acts related to investment in various areas as well as environment, land and technology transfer.

The list of laws includes Industrial Enterprise Act 2076, Lands Act 2021, National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act 2028, Land Acquisition Act 2034, Special Economic Zone Act 2073, Public Private Partnership and Investment Act 2075, Forest Act 2076 and Foreign Investment and Technology Transfer Act 2076.

Earlier, the government announced the amendment through an ordinance before the Investment Summit in April.
