Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates
(UAE) to Nepal, Abdullah Al Shamsi, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP
Sharma Oli at the latter's residence in Baluwatar on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Ambassador Al Shamsi
handed over an official invitation from the UAE’s Vice President and Prime
Minister, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to attend the World Governments
Summit scheduled to be held in Dubai in the second week of February, informed
the Prime Minister's Secretariat in a statement.
The discussions between PM Oli and
Ambassador Shamsi were focused on strengthening the bilateral friendly
relations between Nepal and the UAE. They also deliberated on effectively
implementing previous bilateral agreements and explored opportunities for
further cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, agriculture,
hydropower, tourism, and renewable energy.
Officials from the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs (MoFA) of Nepal were also present during the meeting.
