USA congratulates PM Dahal

Kathmandu, Aug 4: The United States of America Thursday congratulated Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda on his election as the Prime Minister of Nepal.
Issuing a press statement, the US Embassy in Kathmandu praised the peaceful transition of the government.
“Nepal’s commitment to democracy is evident in the peaceful government transition over the past few weeks,” it said.
It has reiterated its commitment to assist Nepal in the constitution implementation and post-quake reconstruction.
“The United States looks forward to continuing to partner with the people and government of Nepal to build more democratic, prosperous, and stable nation that can carry out the important tasks of constitutional implementation, reconstruction, and economic development,” read the statement.

Later in the afternoon, US ambassador to Nepal Alaina B. Tepliz tweeted to congratulate the newly elected PM Prachanda.
