Dr. Budhathoki sworns in as NPC member

Kathmandu, May 7

Newly appointed member of the National Planning Commission (NPC), Dr. Prabhu Budhathoki, took the oath of office and secrecy.

Vice-President of the NPC Dr. Min Bahadur Shrestha administered the oath to Dr. Budhathoki at the planning body in Singhadurbar on Sunday.

Budhathoki has been appointed as a member of the commission for the second time. He was a member of the NPC during the vice-chairmanship of Dr. Shrestha.

He also assumed his post on Sunday. He said that he would now work under the leadership of Vice President Shrestha to advance the work of the commission.

Dr. Ramkumar Phuyal, Dr. Jayakant Raut, Prof. Dr. RP Bichchha and Dr. Ramesh Chandra Poudel have already assumed their responsibilities as members of the NPC.

Dr. Budhathoki is an expert in strategic planning and management and natural resource management. He has completed his studies in resource governance from the United Kingdom. He has a bachelor's degree in Economics from Tribhuvan University and a master's degree from the universities of India and the UK.

Budhathoki also has worked in countries like Iran, the UK and Bangladesh, and the organisations like UNDP, USAID and UNESCO, besides teaching at  TU.
