Bajgain to contest for NC CC

Tourism entrepreneur Rajendra Bajgain has announced his candidacy for the post of central committee member of Nepali Congress for the upcoming 13th General Assembly of the party.
Bajgain, who is contesting the election with slogan ‘politics for the development’, said that the NC should take initiatives to discuss the development issues in the party central committee.
“The NC should take a lead in the national development. It should express its determination for the development planning and effective implementation of plans,” he said.
His 9-point appeal to the convention representatives suggested the NC to establish an information centre to provide the information about business potentials in Nepal, disassociate the trade unions from the political party, establish tax free zones and offer tax discount to large manufacturer plants on export.
“Every year one major project on priority areas, like hydro, road or airport, should be announced and at least 10 per cent of the total budged should be allocated to that project,” read his appeal.

Former general secretary of Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN), Bajgain is Managing Director of Gorkha Encounters and partner in the Millionaire’s Club and Casino at the Sangrila Hotel. His company Silver Heritage is constructing a five-star hotel in Bhairahawa.
