Pakistan celebrated 76th National Day

Pakistan Wednesday celebrated its 76th National Day.
On the occasion, ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal Mazhar Javed hoisted the national flag of Pakistan amidst a ceremony held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu.
Special messages of President and Prime Minister of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain and Muhammad Nawaz Sharif respectively were also read out at the function.
Officials of the embassy and Pakistani community in Kathmandu and other guests participated in the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun attended Pakistan Day reception organized by the embassy at Hyatt Regency hotel.
The reception was attended by diplomats, Nepalese dignitaries, including Chief of the Army Staff, government officials, political leaders, Pakistani community members, academicians, businessmen, bankers, media persons and members of civil society.

Pakistan Day also called Republic Day is celebrated to commemorate the Lahore Resolution of 23 March 1940 when the Muslim League drafted the political resolution that called for creating an independent federation of four provinces located in north-western region.
