Do not sever Internet, NTA tells ISPs

The Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) had directed the internet service providers (ISPs), including the telecommunication companies, not to disconnect the facility even though the customers were unable to pay the bill.

The telecom sector regulator has received complaints from the customers of the ISPs that their services were severed as they could not pay the bills due to the lockdown.

“Shutting down the internet services during the lockdown period will send a negative message to people. Therefore, if possible receive the payment through the online payment,” it said. “In case of the customers who are unable to make the online payment, accept it after the end of lockdown
NTA asked the ISPs not to disconnect the internet service to any of the customer.
