Kathmandu, Jun. 6
Employees and employers
of government and private offices now can pay their dues to the Social Security
Fund directly from Khalti app.
"Khalti
Digital Wallet, in collaboration with the SSF, now has made the service
possible. Khalti has introduced this service in its application to digitise
every payment method in Nepal," said the company.
Executive
Director of the SSF Kapilmani Gyawali and Assistant Manager of Khalti Jonaam
Bhurtel signed an agreement to implement the new service.
This service
has made it easier for both employees and employers as they can deposit the
money to the SSF without any hassle, said Bhurtel. The amount has to be paid by
the 15th of every month.
In case an
employee claims from SSF when they haven’t made the payment, the organisation
has to pay a fine of a certain amount.
"With
the new service in practice, employees do not necessarily have to physically be
available at the office or banks to deposit their funds. Especially, amidst
COVID-19, the service has eased people to make contactless payment," said
Bhurtel.
Likewise, Gyawali
said that the service has helped enhance
the prestige of both Khalti and SSF.
