Pradhan Panel objects the role of FNCCI president and president elect

Kathmandu, Apr. 5: The Kishor Pradhan panel contesting the upcoming election of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has expressed its objections over the role of incumbent president Pashupati Murarka and president-elect Bhawani Rana as the two openly supported the Shekhar Golchha Panel.
Both Pradhan and Golchha are fighting the election for the post of senior vice-president of the largest private sector body.
As the Special AGM of the FNCCI held in January this year made decision that the senior vice-president would automatically succeed the outgoing president and there would be election only to choose the senior VP, incumbent senior VP Bhawani Rana will be the next president of the business body.
At a press conference organized Wednesday afternoon here, Pradhan said that the incumbent and upcoming presidents had openly participated in the publicity programmes organized by the Golchha panel and termed the latter as the member of their ‘team’.
The press conference was attended by the two candidates of vice president Shankar Pandey and Pramod Shrestha and members of Pradhan panel.
“This is a seer violation of the FNCCI election code of conduct, and has negative impact on the reputation and fame of the organization. In addition to that, the senior leaders have made decision so as to benefit the panel they supported,” he said.
According to him, such activities will damage the reputation of the FNCCI and weaken it.
He also questioned that if his panel won the election, how could the president elect perform in the days to come.
Meanwhile, Ajaya Mudbhari has been unanimously elected as the central member of the FNCCI from the bi-national chamber of commerce and industry sector.
He is representing Nepal-Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
