Kathmandu, July 11
The Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industry (FNCSI) and Rastriya
Banijya Bank (RBB) on Thursday signed an agreement to increase micro, cottage,
small as well as youth and women entrepreneurs' access to finance.
FNCSI President Shyam Prasad Giri and RBB Chief Executive Officer Kiran
Kumar Shrestha signed the agreement at an event organised at the bank
headquarters.
Giri said that the new pact would help increase the access of the
entrepreneurs at the lower rung of the business sector to the finance.
He said that the federation had about 35,000 general members, more than
11,000 women entrepreneurs united through 60 District Women Entrepreneurs
Committee and 24 commodity associations. There are about 100,000 members
associated with the FNCSI.
Shrestha said that the bank would extend lending to the business and
industrial sector as per the government announced concessional loan policy. The
bank will facilitate in providing credit facilities to the FNCSI members.
Women Entrepreneurship Loan, Commercial Agriculture and Livestock Loan,
Youth Self-Employment Loan, Loan for the Foreign Returned Youth, Dalit Business
Loan are the concessional loan schemes while Clean Environment Vehicle Loan and
Micro, Cottage Small Enterprise Loan are the regular schemes.
