Prime Minister of
Nepal, KP Sharma Oli, inaugurated Mercure Hotel, the international French chain
in hospitality, in Sukedhara of Kathmandu on Wednesday.
The hotel is operated
by Accor which has established a global network in the hotel business.
Speaking at the
inaugural programme, Prime Minister Oli expressed his confidence that this
hotel would contribute to promoting tourism in Nepal, especially the French
tourists. He mentioned that the hotel would bring a new taste to the hotel
business, and hoped it would encourage and support the sector.
PM Oli also assured
that the government would facilitate the development and promotion of the
sector.
Mercure, the first
five-star French-brand hotel in Nepal, is equipped with modern facilities
including three different kitchens, an Italian restaurant, and a banquet hall
that can accommodate 400 people. The 11-storey hotel has 104 rooms, including
suites.
It also features
fitness facilities, including a gym, steam room, and sauna. Its rooftop has a
bar with a swimming pool.
