The 23rd
National Convention of the FNCSI and 20th National Women
Enterpreneurs Conference elected the incumbent senior vice-president to the
leadership of the umbrella organization of Nepalese cottage and small
industries.
The convention was held
in the capital on Monday and Tuesday.
Newly elected president
Giri expressed his promises that he would work for the rehabilitation of the
quake damaged industries and revive industries affected by the India imposed
blockade.
“My priority will be to
work to implement the directive to use local products in government offices,
marketing of such goods and to establish a market to buy and supply ‘made in Nepal ’
goods,” he said.
He also said that he
would coordinate with the Nepal Rastra Bank and Nepalese banking industry to
enhance the financial access of the entrepreneurs.
The convention elected
Umesh Prasad Singh as senior vice-president, Chandan Krishna Shrestha, Bishnu
Bahadur Luitel, Shobha Gurung, Kumar Giri, Mohan Katuwal and Purna Bahadur
Bhandari as vice-presidents.
Dambar Prasad Regmi
elected as the general secretary, Satya Narayan Prajapati as the treasurer,
Pramila Basnet as the secretary and Shankar Prasad Acharya elected as the
joint-treasurer.
Likewise, Prakash
Bahadur Kayastha was elected as the chairman of Province Association of the
FNCSI, Kathmandu Valley while Rajesh Koirala, Satya Narayan Agrawal, Surya
Bahadur Kandel, Harihar Thapa, Netra Prasad Pathak, Chandra Bahadur BC and
Prakash Rawal elected as the chairmans of province 1 to 7 respectively.
Similarly, Shiwa
Upadhyaya ‘Anju’ elected as the chairman of the Central Women Entrepreneur
Committee while Roshani Upadhyaya, Shanta Baskota Koirala, Laxmi Kumari Giri
elected as vice-chairman, secretary and treasurer respectively.
Rita Awal elected as the
central joint-secretary and Pancha Laxmi Shrestha elected as the central
joint-treasurer.
