Senior vice-president of the Federation of Nepalese
Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Bhawani Rana said that there was an
enabling investment environment in Nepal as the government has trusted the
private sector and was working for various policy reforms.
President of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries
(CNI) Hari Bhakta Sharma said that his company, Deurali Janta Pharmaceuticals
Limited, was witnessing 20 per cent growth on average per annum and urged
foreign investors to invest in Nepal as there were opportunities everywhere.
“The right type of product and technology will
facilitate you to penetrate the large markets in India and China,” he said.
President of Jyoti Group of Industries and former
president of the FNCCI, Padma Jyoti said that the political parties were more
committed to creating a conducive business environment as they had begun to
talk about the right policy rather than the politics of right and left.
Puneet Varshney, managing director of Botlers Nepal,
stated that the multinational beverage giant was planning to expand its
facility here.
“Nepal is one of the most important markets for
Coca-Cola globally. This is the reason we have been here for the last four
decades,” he said.
President of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and
Industry Suraj Vaidya said that Nepal should be able to negotiate with China
and South Asian countries.
He urged the government to be clear on the fact that
the country has the potential to be a gateway to both China and the South Asia.
Former president of the Non-Residential Nepalese
Association Dr. Upendra Mahato urged the NRNs to invest in Nepal in order to
motivate other foreign investors to come to Nepal.
Former vice-president of the National Planning
Commission Dr. Shankar Sharma had moderated the session that had the
participation of the private sector and foreign investors.
