Kathmandu, Nov. 29
The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) had signed a contract with the ZCGI-Khani JV for the retrofitting of Kaiser Mahal, a Rana era palace in the Capital.
Central Project Implementation Unit (Building) of the NRA signed the contract with the contractor on Friday.
CPIU’s Project Director Navaraj Pyakurel and JV’s Ratna Gautam signed the contract.
The retrofitting would be completed at Rs. 672.4 million. The contractor will complete the works within two years.
Pyakurel said that the palace would be retrofitted in a way the building would not lose its original design and be quake-resilient.
Gautam said that the company would start the work within a week.
Likewise, a JV of John Sandy Associates Pvt. Ltd. SW Nepal Pvt. Ltd. and Pyramid Design Associates Pvt. Ltd are selected as the consultants for the project.
