CAN Federation congratulates FNCCI leaders

Kathmandu, Dec. 11

Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation has congratulated the newly elected office- bearers of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).

The election held on November 28 this year had elected Senior Vice-President Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Vice-Presidents Dinesh Shrestha, Anjan Shrestha and Ramchandra Sanghai and other members.

As per the organisation’s statute, Senior VP will be automatically elevated to the post of the president so Shekhar Golchha has become the president of FNCCI.

CAN Federation president Nawaraj Kunwar welcomed the new team and congratulated them.

“FNCCI is the largest business organisation in the country, therefore, it has an important role to play to make business environment better. We want to collaborate with it in that initiative,” he said.

He said that the application of the information and communication technology (ICT) had supported the business in the difficult times during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him, while the ICT-based businesses prospered during the crisis, it also supported other businesses to go online or to operate from distance.

Kunwar said that his organisation would collaborate with the government and FNCCI to develop the ICT sector.

Speaking on the occasion, FNCCI president Golchha said that the importance of ICT was increased during the coronavirus crisis.

“To create better business environment and support the in propelling economic growth, the FNCCI is developing a National Vision. We will consult with the CAN Federation to incorporate the issues and agenda of ICT sector as well,” he said.

Golchha especially stressed the application of ICT in agriculture to save farmers from the net of the brokers and middlemen.

On the occasion, CAN Federation in collaboration with Lord Buddha Education Foundation had distributed national scholarships 2020. Full scholarships were given to seven students one from each province and partial scholarships were provided to 42 students.
