Kathmandu, Feb. 13: Buddha Air has announced the two-way flight fare for Kathmandu-Kolkata at Rs. 24,000.
“From 15 April 2019, Buddha Air will operate nonstop and direct flights between Kathmandu and Kolkata. There will be three flights weekly every Monday, Wednesday and Friday,” the private sector airlines said in a statement on Wednesday.
The fare for Indian citizens is INR 15,000 – equal to Nepalis.
As part of its international flight route, the airline is already operating two flights weekly every Monday and Friday between Kathmandu and Varanasi. Kolkata is one of the many destinations Buddha Air has in sight for its international expansion plan.
The Kathmandu - Kolkata - Kathmandu flights will be operated on the airline’s ATR 72-500 aircraft which is considered as one of the best aircraft for short-haul routes.
Along with direct flights, Buddha Holidays, a travel subsidiary of Buddha Air, is also offering Nepal holiday packages, catered especially to Bengalis. The packages reflect the unique cultural, religious, wildlife and adventurous aspects of Nepal while the holiday packages for Nepalis include Kolkata, Ganga Snan, Sundarban, Jagannath Puri and others.
