Additional 18 Nepalis leave Israel

 Kathmandu, Oct. 17

Eighteen Nepalis – four students, 13 workers and one tourist – have left Israel on Tuesday evening in Spicejet Airlines, flight no. SG9996.

The aircraft took off from Ben Gurion International Airport in Israel at 2:55 PM local time (5:40 PM in Nepal) for New Delhi.

The Embassy of Nepal in Tel Aviv, Israel, informed in a statement that it has made arrangement to take them to New Delhi, capital city of India, in coordination with the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv.

After they reach New Delhi, the Embassy of Nepal there will take care of them and arrange their journey to Kathmandu.

The embassy in Israel also said that preparations are being made to send the bodies identified among those who died in the attack of Palestine rebel group HAMAS on October 7 to Nepal within 2/3 days after completing the legal process.

Meanwhile, the work of identifying the other bodies is going on. Also, the search for Bipin Joshi, who is out of contact, has been intensified using all available mechanisms and means, informed the embassy.

Earlier, on Friday, the government had brought back 253 Nepali students who had reached Isreal under 'learn and earn' programme. Minister for Foreign Affairs, NP Saud had led the rescue mission.

More than 200 Nepalis studying or working in Israel, other than those rescued and brought to Kathmandu on Friday, have expressed their desire to come back to Nepal. The 18 who left Israel on Tuesday are from that group.
