Remains of two students killed in Israel arrive in Doti

Doti/Kathmandu, Nov. 5

Mortal remains of two students who died in Israel in the attack by the Palestinian rebel group Hamas on October 7 have been brought to Doti and handed over to their relatives.

The bodies of Padam Thapa of Adarsha Rural Municipality-5 Peed of Doti and Rajan Phulara of Shikhar Municipality-6 Chuni were handed over to their relatives. The remains were brought to Doti Airport in Dipayal in a Sky Ambulance NA 064 of Nepali Army at around 3 o'clock on Sunday afternoon.

Relatives identified both dead bodies at the Doti Airport. People's representatives and heads of the security agencies had reached the airport along with the relatives to accept the remains of the deceased.

According to the Chief District Officer of Doti, Gopal Prasad Aryal, arrangements had been made to transport the dead bodies of the dead students to their homes by a team of police led by inspectors.

Relatives have informed that the bodies of both the deceased students would be cremated only on Monday. It is said that the deceased Padam Thapa will be cremated in the Seti River at Talara in Adarsh-5 while the last rites of Rajan Phulara will be performed in the Seti River at Adeul in Shikhar Municipality-6.

Thapa and Fulara, studying in the eighth semester at the Tikapur Agricultural Campus of the Far Western University, had reached Israel in August this year under 'learn and earn' programme.

Upon learning about their death, families had been requesting the government to bring their dead bodies as soon as possible from Israel.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), informed that the body of Pravesh Bhandari of Sharda-3 in Salyan district has also taken to Surkhet by a Nepali Army helicopter on Sunday.

The mortal remains of Bhandari have been taken to Dang from there and handed over to the relatives.

Before this, remains of Ganesh Kumar Nepali of Jaya Prithvi-6 of Bajhang, Lokendra Singh Dhami of Darchula Malikarjan-4, Dipesh Raj Bista of Darchula Lekam-5, Anand Shah of Dhanusha Sapahi-6, Narayan Prasad Neupane of Kailali Ghodaghodi-4, Rajesh Kumar Swarnakar of Sunsari Madhuvan-1 and Ashish Chaudhary of Kailali Bauniyan-3 has been brought to Nepal and handed over to the relatives.
