Speaker Sapkota calls on the President


Kathmandu, May 8
Speaker of the House of Representative Agni Prasad Sapkota on Friday called on President Bidya Devi Bhandari to inform about the preparations for the upcoming session of the federal parliament.

He informed the President that the President would present the government’s Policy and Programmes for Fiscal Year 2020/21 in the joint meeting of the federal parliament on May 15. As per the constitutional provision, the President has to present the policy and programmes at the joint meeting of the House of the Representatives and National Assembly.

According to the Parliament Secretariat, the President and Speaker discussed about the sixth session of the parliament, issues of the session and the government’s policy and programmes.

Speaker Sapkota also updated President Bhandari that the meeting of the parliament would be managed as per the guidelines of the World Health Organisation (WHO) amidst the coronavirus outbreak.
