Watch women issues, FWLD tells NHRC

Forum for Women, Law and Development (FWLD) has drawn the attention of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on women-related cases during the lockdown period.

"Domestic, sex-related and other forms of violence should be monitored," Executive Director of the Forum wrote to the Chief Commissioner of the NHRC Anup Raj Sharma in a letter on Wednesday.

The forum has suggested the rights-body to monitor the regularity of sex and reproductive health service in the time of crisis, biases in relief distribution on the basis of sex, sexual minority, marital status, disability, caste, religion or age.

Similarly, it has asked to include the condition of refugees, migrant Nepali workers who had returned from foreign countries and people without legal identity.

The forum also drew the attention of the commission to mandatorily include women in all committees and teams formed to monitor human rights situation.
