Former ambassadors urge to utilise their expertise

 Kathmandu, June 10

Association of Former Career Ambassadors of Nepal (AFCAN) has urged Minister for Foreign Affairs, N. P. Saud to utilise the knowledge and expertise of former ambassadors in operating Nepal's foreign affairs.

A delegation of the association, including executive committee members, former foreign secretaries, and past presidents of the association, called on FM Saud at his office on Friday.

Its President, Bhagirath Basnet, said that the wide experience gained by the members of the association in the course of their long service in the different parts of the world and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) may be utilised for suggesting standard operating procedures of MOFA- missions.

Their suggestions could be useful in restructuring aspects of the ministry in the present context as well, the AFCAN informed in a statement.

FM Saud while acknowledging the contribution of the members of AFCAN to the nation in the past said that it could be a reliable interlocutor to interact on foreign policy issues.
