Kathmandu, May 4: Nepal Life Insurance
Company (NLIC) Limited has provided term life insurance policies to 254
journalists covering the economic and business beat.
The company has offered a Smart Life
Insurance Policy, equivalent to Rs. 750,000, to each of the members of the
Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal (SEJON).
Chief Executive Officer of NLIC Vivek
Jha handed over the policy to president of SEJON Gokarna Awasthi at a programme
organised here Thursday.
The policy covers life insurance, with
additional facility of accident insurance and permanent disability insurance,
where each of the title carries an insured amount of Rs. 250,000.
But it doesn't include health
treatment.
According to Jha, the company had
provided insurance to economic journalists as per its Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
"In addition to the CSR, we have
the responsibility to create awareness about insurance among the masses,
therefore we believe that this initiative will be effective in this regard,
too," he said.
Smart Life Insurance is a product of
the company which offers insurance service at Rs. 10 per day for Rs. 1 million
insurance.
