Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) said
that shuttle bus service would be provided to the tourists on Sunday, the day
of local elections.
As the Election Commission of
Nepal has restricted any public or private vehicle, except some private vehicles
that have obtained permission from the ECN, ply on the street on the Election
Day, the NTB is operating the airport shuttle service to facilitate the
tourists.
Vehicular movement will be
stopped from Saturday midnight to Sunday midnight in Provinces 3, 4 and 6.
The ECN has granted permission
to the Board to operate the shuttle service from 6:00 am.
However, the service will be
limited to picking up the tourists from the hotels and dropping them at the Tribhuvan International Airport
or vice versa. Both domestic as well as foreign tourists and passangers will be
benefited by the service.
According to the NTB, no general
public will be allowed in the bus, and the buses will not stop in between the
route approved by the ECN, from airport to different hotels in Kathmanu and
Lalitpur.
“The service will only be given
to the tourists coming to Nepal
and going out of the country,” said spokesperson of the NTB Sharad Pradhan.
NTB will mobilize the Tourist
Police for the safety of the tourists.
There will be three routes.
The first route is from TIA to New
Road, Hotel Annapurna, Hotel Yak and Yeti, Thamel Chowk, Lainchaur and Hotel
Shankar, and to TIA.
Likewise, second route is from
TIA to Hotel Shangrila, Narayangopal Chowk, Maharajgunj, Hyatt Regency,
Chabahil chowk and Dwarik Hotel, and to TIA.
Similarly, route three is from
