Joint Secretary
of the Ministry of Education Dr. Hari Lamsal inaugurated the fair amidst a
ceremony.
“Such fairs
help strengthen ties between the two neighbours from business as well as people
to people level. It also helps Nepali students aspiring for higher studies in
foreign countries,” he said.
About a dozen
Chinese universities are participating in the fair.
Lei Meng,
Assistant Dean at the International College of China University of Mining, and
Technology, said that she was excited to come to Nepal and participate in such an
event.
“Chinese
universities are offering specialized education on vary traditional and modern
disciplines. So, they can be an education destination for Nepali students,” she
said.
Similarly,
Section Chief of International Office at the Shandong University of Science and
Technology Zhang Yawei said that most of the universities in China , including his, are using English language
as the teaching learning medium which is attracting a large number of foreign
students to China .
Universities
participating in the fair are offering undergraduate, post-graduate and
doctorate degrees on various subjects such as medicine, science and technology,
humanities, law, literature, mining, aviation and aeronautics, economics,
management, trade and geology.
Fair on the
same theme will be organized in Pokhara after a couple of days.
