PM Oli inspects Upper Tamakoshi


Kathmandu, Apr. 11: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has inspected the Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectricity Project in Gongar of Dolakha following its inspection on Wednesday morning.
He said that the construction of the project must not be delayed in any situation and with any excuse.
"Tell me if you have any challenges and hurdles in the project development. The government will immediately address those hurdles but you must be sincere in your work," he said.
PM Oli inspected turbine in the tunnel, main shut off valve and other physical infrastructure of the project, according to a press statement of the PM Office.
Project Chief Bigyan Shrestha informed the PM about the progress and physical and financial status.
Employees of the project has requested the PM to repair the road immediately as they were facing difficulties in the supply of construction materials due to the poor condition of the access road.
The 456 megawatt Upper Tamakoshi was started about seven years ago. It will begin to produce electricity partially by December 2018.
"One turbine will come into operation by the end of this year and all 6 turbines will be operational by May 2019," Oli said after returning from the trip.
The project is being developed with Rs. 49.29 billion.
PM Oli also observed the dam site of the project and directed the staff not to compromise in quality construction.
Minister for Energy Barsha Man Pun, PM's Chief Advisor Bishnu Rimal and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong had accompanied the PM.
