Kathmandu,
Jan. 29: Hi Aim Conference, an international conference on hospitality
industry, is to be organised in Kathmandu on February 21 and 22.
"The
two-day event aims at creating a common knowledge sharing platform to confer
and exchange ideas on key issues and emerging trends in hospitality
industry," said Anil Sharma, managing director of Hi-Aim Conference Pvt.
Ltd., India and professor at Indian Institute of Technology Rurkee.
He
said that Hi-Aim promoted intellectual dialogues to find the ways and means to
help and promote hospitality and responsible tourism.
Hi-Aim
2017 will be the 6th conference in the series. Four conferences were
held in India, and the fifth was organised in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
"The
United National declared 2017 as 'International Year of Sustainable Tourism and
Development'. What can be the better opportunity than this for holding this
year's conference in Kathmandu, a hub of regional tourism," said Sharma.
The
conference will feature architecture, interior design and management of
hospitality industry, and more than 150 experts from South Asian countries and
abroad will participate in the event.
"The
forum offers a very unique platform to discuss and interact with industry
experts who participate in the panel discussions, also address pertinent issues
of the hospitality trade through presentations, brainstorming sessions and case
studies," said Ramesh Koul, MD of Hi-Aim.
He
said that the conference also had networking evenings for delegates, speakers,
exhibitors which was an opportunity to exchange ideas with global industry
leaders.
Sharma
said that the conference would also feature honour ceremony where industry
pioneers would be honoured.
Anukool
Bhatnagar, MD of Nepal SBI Bank Limited, said that such conference would help
the hospitality industry to share their ideas and update about latest
technological innovations.
